STEM Professional Development for Educators Presented by CT STEM Academy
Our program will highlight the importance of being culturally responsive in the field of STEM Education. All workshops are open to aspiring educators, current PreK to 12 educators, and paraeducators. Attendance is required in both online and in person workshop. Evidence of self-paced investigation required for workshop series completion.

Workshop #1
A Social Justice Lens in STEM Education
Participants will explore ways to make social justice a guiding principle in their STEM classroom practices.

Workshop #2
Culturally Responsive Literature in STEM
Participants will explore ways to embed culturally responsive literature into STEM instruction to support all learners and address issues of equity and inclusion.

Workshop #3
Culturally Responsive Teaching Using NASA Educator Resources
Participants will engage with wide array of NASA resources and integrate culturally responsive teaching.

For those attending Workshop #3, you will also receive a NASA Digital Learning Badge upon completion.
This series is open to PreK - 8 educators. The stipend for the workshop is $200 for a fully certified educator, $100 for an aspiring educator/future teacher, and $100 for a paraeducator. *Upon completion of at least one workshop and the August 22 in-person workshop, you will receive a stipend and Certificate of Completion. This workshop is in a blended model which includes: virtual, self-paced, and an in-person
