STEM: Workshops
Participants will engage in a wide range of STEM topics that vary by day. Please note that in case of severe inclement weather, the program will be moved indoors to the Youth Center.
Thursday, September 22 - Basketball Hoop Challenge
Participants will create a mini-basketball game out of household materials. Thursday, September 29 - Boomerangs Participants will create their own boomerangs out of different materials and conduct flight trials. Thursday, October 6 - Roller Coasters Participants will envision and design a paper roller coaster. Thursday, October 13 - Rocks and Minerals Participants will investigate various rocks and minerals in their local area. Thursday, October 20 - Cotton Ball Catapults Participants will build and conduct multiple trials as they launch cotton balls from catapults they create. Thursday, October 27 - Tin Foil Boats Participants will build and conduct flotation trials for boats they create. |
You can register for each program separately or altogether. The price listed is for EACH individual program, NOT a cumulative price for all programs.

Election Day Workshops
There's no school today so take the opportunity to join us for a day of fun-filled STEM workshops! With a morning workshop focused on Robotics and an afternoon workshop for Rocketry, there will be plenty of exploration. If you register for both the morning and afternoon, be sure to pack a lunch to enjoy from 12:00 p.m. to 12:30 p.m. between the workshops. Both workshops will be led by experienced STEM educators who will adjust program instruction to meet the needs of all participants.
Robotics Workshop
Are you interested in robotics? If so, then you’ll want to be a part of this robotics program! Students will create Bristlebots among other creations with the option to keep their creations.

Rocketry Workshop
In 3...2...1...BLAST OFF! In this STEM program, students will act as true NASA employees as they investigate various types of rockets. Participants will have the opportunity to build small rockets from household materials that they can launch at home, eventually building up to a well-designed rocket that will be launched from our own high pressure air compressor. Get ready to blast off with this exciting program!

STEAM Thursdays
This is a fun program for all who are interested in Art connections to STEM. Each week will explore a wide range of topics from robotics, science and math that will result in a variety of "make & take" projects.
